Students eligible to participate in SOS should speak with their Academic Advisor or email about registering for the program. If you have any general questions about the program, please contact us at 704-687-5441, email, or stop by Colvard 2300.
Students (mentees) meet with their peer mentor one (1) time per week for one (1) hour.  The SOS program lasts for one (1) academic semester (16 weeks). Students are limited to participating in SOS for one (1) semester. The strength of the program is the weekly mentor meeting so attendance is expected. Students who cannot commit to attending the weekly meeting should consider other academic support options such as Personal Academic Consultations.
All SOS meetings are held in the mentoring rooms in the University Center for Academic Excellence (UCAE), Colvard 2300.
All participants are asked to complete an initial assessment when they sign up for the program that provides information regarding their academic journey. After the information is received, students are then matched with a mentor based on their individual needs and experiences.
