49er Connect Success Guides

49er Connect

The 49er Connect Success Guides are the UCAE's newest Peer Leaders. They are a trained group of UNC Charlotte Students matched with their peers to provide academic support throughout the semester.

Success Guides are here to help their peers strengthen academic skills like time management and note-taking. They will work with students to troubleshoot issues with classes or navigate campus resources. In addition to regular check-ins, they'll provide reminders about University deadlines and share study tips throughout the semester.

I am a junior at UNC Charlotte. I am a Psychology and Political Science double major with a minor in Public health. My favorite studying tools include colored pens, my planner, and sticky notes. When I am not doing schoolwork, I love to spend time with my friends and family. I also enjoy watching Marvel movies, attempting to learn how to cook, and laughing at TikTok videos. I'm excited to be a 49er Connect Success Guide and look forward to a great semester!

I am an early entry student in the Master of Healthcare Administration program here at UNC Charlotte. While beginning my graduate course work, I'm finishing my undergraduate degree in Psychology. My minor is in Health and Medical Humanities and my professional focus is in women's and behavioral health. I hope to work in upper-level healthcare management, guiding diverse teams of professionals through complex problems. I also enjoy editorial makeup artistry and photography as hobbies. I love working together with other students in my courses to better grasp the material and prepare for exams.

I am a junior at UNC Charlotte and my major is Finance and Accounting with a minor in Management Information Systems. One day I plan to become a Forensic Accountant and potentially go to law school. I am a member of the Women’s Club Lacrosse team and enjoy traveling to places such as New York, Charleston, and Florida.

Kiyoshi Roberts

She/Her/Hers

I am an international student from the Bahamas. My establishment to the United States made me strive to want to do more for myself and for others. Although I came to Charlotte to obtain a degree in Management Information System, during my time here I have felt and experienced so much that has caused me to have a burden for the community. I am proud to say that becoming more involved has helped me to flourish as a strong and dedicated team leader and player. I enjoy spending my spare time helping others to achieve their goals as I am motivated to achieve mine. I believe that education is endless and that we must obtain as much of it whenever the opportunity presents itself. A really great thought that I live by is, “What are you doing to help others?” As one great person once wrote, "You have not lived today until you have done something for someone who can never repay you.” ― John Bunyan.
