The 49er Connect Success Guides are the UCAE's newest Peer Leaders. They are a trained group of UNC Charlotte Students matched with their peers to provide academic support throughout the semester. Some colleges have asked their students to meet with a Success Guide throughout the spring semester. If you are in this group, your Success Guide will reach out to schedule your first appointment.
Success Guides are here to help their peers strengthen academic skills like time management and note taking. They will work with students to troubleshoot issues with online classes or connect to campus resources. In addition to regular meetings, they'll provide regular reminders about University deadlines and share study tips throughout the semester.

I am a senior majoring in Criminal Justice. One of my passions is working with exotic animals on a local farm in my spare time. I am a very time-oriented person and love to have things on a schedule for me to visually see. I am an avid believer that you are more likely to get things accomplished if you can actually see that they need to be done. When I graduate in the Spring, I am moving to Ft. Lauderdale and hope to begin my career working in higher education!

I taught in the private school sector for two years, worked for the South Carolina Department of Education as a Student Services Program Coordinator, and am currently a Residence Hall Coordinator for Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte, NC. My work revolves around education and advocacy for minority and marginalized students. Outside of work, my hobbies include playing the piano, the guitar, and singing. I believe art is therapy and that everyone should find the inner artist in them.
I am a Master's student in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I earned my undergraduate degree in psychology and minored in Japanese at UNC Charlotte. I am a long-time employee of the UCAE and enjoy working with students to achieve their goals, especially in areas regarding time management. Outside of school and work, I love all things nerdy - DnD, scifi/fantasy novels, etc.
I am a Computer Engineering major, and this is my senior year. My goal is to become a Software Engineer and maybe one day create my own software company. In my free time, I enjoy playing videogames and playing sports like soccer and volleyball. Fun fact about me: I lived in Venezuela for 7 years, so I am fluent in Spanish.
I am currently an undergraduate student working towards a Bachelor's Degree in Organizational Management with a minor in Operations and Supply Chain Management. Back in 2019, I emigrated from the Caribbean country, St. Kitts & Nevis, to further build a fruitful life and career through education, innovation, and philanthropy. I found my home away from here at the UCAE. Previously serving as an SOS Peer Mentor reignited my passion for helping others. I've now challenged myself to explore new opportunities for professional development and the sake of making at least one student's academic journey a bit easier as a Success Guide. You may also see me around fulfilling my duties as a UCAE Ambassador. (I definitely wasn't kidding about taking residence here). Outside of the UCAE, I am currently a member of the Gamma Rho Chapter of the Alpha Sigma Lambda Honor Society here at UNC Charlotte. Fun Fact: I'm not superstitious but I am a little-stitious. Yes, I thoroughly enjoyed "The Office".
I am currently a freshman from Albuquerque, New Mexico. I've lived there my whole life, but I chose to come to UNC Charlotte after falling in love with North Carolina and with the campus. I plan on graduating this May with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and a double minor in Psychology and Women and Gender Studies. I am originally from Fayetteville, North Carolina and have now called Charlotte home for 3 years. UNC Charlotte has been an amazing place for me to grow as a person with the help of enriching community experiences offered on campus. I have gained leadership experience from being a member of Delta Zeta Sorority and the Leadership Fellows program. It is my goal to help students with their academics full-time after graduation!
I am an international student from the Bahamas. My establishment to the United States made me strive to want to do more for myself and for others. Although I came to Charlotte to obtain a degree in Management Information System, during my time here I have felt and experienced so much that has caused me to have a burden for the community. I am proud to say that becoming more involved has helped me to flourish as a strong and dedicated team leader and player. I enjoy spending my spare time helping others to achieve their goals as I am motivated to achieve mine. I believe that education is endless and that we must obtain as much of it whenever the opportunity presents itself. A really great thought that I live by is, “What are you doing to help others?” As one great person once wrote, "You have not lived today until you have done something for someone who can never repay you.” ― John Bunyan.
