SI Leaders are responsible for holding 3-4, 50 min study sessions a week; attending all class meetings for one section of the selected course; and meeting weekly with SI supervisor for a debrief session. In total, you can expect to work around 10 hours per week..

A tutoring position averages 8-12 hours per week. The work schedule is flexible to be consistent with a student's class schedule and may include some evening and/or weekend hours if needed. The tutor provides one on one peer tutoring for UNC Charlotte students who are currently enrolled in the course for which they are receiving tutoring for. Some minimal weekly paperwork/documentation is required along with weekly schedule up-keep.

Students Obtaining Success (SOS) Peer Mentors
SOS mentors work individually with students on academic probation to help them achieve good academic standing. Mentors must have a 3.0 cumulative GPA and should have earned at least 30 credit hours. Mentors each work with a minimum of four students, attend training, and regular staff meetings. Faculty and staff nominations are encouraged and may be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org. Interested students may also email for additional information. Mentors are selected for each Fall and Spring semester. Visit the SOS website for updated selection information.
